CONAN THE BARBARIAN #9 (MARVEL: 1971)

Conan is given a stone knife, a rope, and a flint. The Cimmerian will need all three if he is to rescue Jenna from atop the tall tower where she's held by a winged man.

All that and more as we look at Conan the Barbarian #9: The Garden of Fear by Roy Thomas, Barry Windsor Smith, Sal Buscema, and Sam Rosen.

This issue was published by Marvel Comics in June, 1971.

Plus, I talk about Robert E. Howard's racist views and how they made their way into some of his Conan stories.

Enjoy!

  1. It was cool to see the story continue directly from the previous issue.

The image of Conan's necklace on the second page reminded of the necklace worn by Cerebus the Aardvark.
